About Intercept API
Intercept API is a free Chrome extension and web dashboard that captures the API requests your browser sends to localhost, so you can inspect, replay and mock them, and share your local server through a secure tunnel. It is made by Ismail Abbasi.
What Intercept API is
Intercept API is a debugging tool for developers who build against a local server. A Chrome extension captures the requests your app sends to localhost and 127.0.0.1, and a web dashboard at interceptapi.in shows them as they happen. From there you can replay a request, answer it with a mock response, read the page's console logs next to the traffic, ask an AI model to explain a failure, or open a tunnel so someone else can reach your local server.
Why it exists
Debugging a local API usually means switching between the browser's DevTools, an API client such as Postman and a tunnelling tool such as ngrok. Intercept API puts the parts of those you need while building against localhost in one place: the requests your app makes, the tools to replay or fake them, and a way to share your local server.

Privacy in one paragraph
Captured requests are sent over an encrypted connection to the Intercept API servers so your dashboard can show them, and secrets are redacted before your history is saved. AI analysis goes straight from your browser to the provider you choose; your key never reaches our servers. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is stored and for how long.
